SplashMaps makes customisable, wearable fabric maps for outdoor activities—waterproof, washable and printed at adventure-ready scales. Their challenge was giving customers a simple, exact way to specify map centers and mark critical spots (campsites, first-aid, parking, etc.) on a physical map so users could reliably find locations in remote or crowded settings.
SplashMaps integrated what3words into their ordering and print workflow, letting customers set a map’s central point and label key sites with three-word addresses using OpenStreetMap data. The result is precise, easy-to-use paper maps that improve navigation and safety for hikers, events and festivals while expanding SplashMaps’ practical features and customer appeal.
