Case Study: Electrical and Instrumentation Contractors Company achieves better spend visibility and single-card mixed-fleet fueling with WEX CrossRoads

A WEX Case Study

Preview of the Electrical and Instrumentation Contractors Company Case Study

Convenient fueling, better visibility, improved control

Electrical and Instrumentation Contractors Company, one of the largest electrical and instrumentation contractors in the country and based in Louisiana with more than 30 branches across the U.S. and operations in six other nations, faced poor reporting, accountability and visibility for a complex mixed fleet. They struggled with miscellaneous and uncontrolled non‑fuel spend and lacked authorization controls, so they engaged WEX and sought a single‑card solution to better manage fueling and purchases.

WEX implemented the WEX CrossRoads card along with analytics and online reporting, providing Level III reporting, robust purchasing controls and a single card usable at retail sites and truck stops (access to more than 12,000 truck stops and 95% of U.S. retail fueling locations). The WEX solution improved spend visibility, curtailed unauthorized non‑fuel transactions, encouraged better driver behavior and delivered sustainable savings through easier identification and flagging of outlier purchases.
