FNBO (First National Bank of Omaha), a 167‑year‑old bank managing $32 billion in assets, needed a competitive edge to grow its commercial card program while addressing security, inefficiency, and scalability concerns. To offer customers faster, more secure alternatives to checks and traditional cards, FNBO partnered with WEX and adopted WEX’s virtual card business payments technology.
WEX implemented its virtual card solutions and provided hands‑on support, including a dedicated relationship manager to guide integration, fraud mitigation, credit, sales, and account management. As a result, WEX enabled FNBO to scale its commercial card offerings, reduce exposure to account‑number fraud by replacing checks and other risky payment types, and equip FNBO teams to sell and support the solution—positioning the bank for continued growth.
