A transformed space inspires innovation at Standard Chartered

Standard Chartered partnered with WeWork to solve a pressing challenge: creating a modern innovation space that would help the bank stay competitive as customers demanded more digital, seamless banking experiences. As part of its SC Ventures initiative, Standard Chartered needed a bright, collaborative environment in its Hong Kong tower that could inspire creativity, improve team efficiency, and support rapid experimentation.

WeWork designed and built the “eXellerator Lab,” a 10,000-square-foot innovation hub with flexible classrooms, meeting rooms, and a large lounge, all customized to Standard Chartered’s brand and local Hong Kong influences. WeWork completed the project in just three months, and the new space has since enabled events, cross-functional collaboration, and new product development, including call center improvements, a web chatbot, and a relaunched mobile app.
