Tillamook County Creamery - Customer Case Study

Tillamook County Creamery faced growing demand and needed to "move more products — faster" as part of a $23 million plant expansion. To modernize its 12‑level automated warehouse and improve speed, accuracy and reliability, Tillamook County Creamery engaged Westfalia Tech. Inc. to upgrade its Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) and Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Westfalia Tech. Inc. replaced S/RM controls with an Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix solution (with VPN remote access), upgraded drives and positioning to SEW Eurodrive and SICK laser systems, and modernized the WMS and communications (Wireless LAN). The upgrades delivered measurable gains: a 30% storage-density advantage over conventional warehousing, a 10% increase in S/RM speed, easier troubleshooting and remote service, faster, more accurate product flows, and reliable operation across 15,040 pallet positions (about 35 million lbs. of product).
