Pepsi Bottling Group - Customer Case Study

Pepsi Bottling Group, one of the world’s largest beverage manufacturers and distributors, needed to maximize storage and boost throughput at its Tampa facility to keep up with peak production and deliver store‑ready pallets. To meet this challenge they turned to Westfalia Tech. Inc., deploying a high‑density AS/RS along with Westfalia’s Savanna.NET® warehouse control/management solution.

Westfalia Tech. Inc. implemented a multiple‑deep AS/RS with two S/RMs (with Satellite capability), a TC1500 transfer car, KUKA robotic gantries for high‑speed layer picking, and Savanna.NET® WCS to control all product flows; the 13‑level system holds over 12,000 pallets while using just 30% of the footprint of a conventional warehouse. The solution raised throughput (HSLP layer picking up to 3,000 cases/hour), cut labor, errors, energy and building costs, lowered maintenance, and improved inventory accuracy and environmental impact.
