Breakthru Beverage Illinois, a multi-state spirits distributor with $1.8 billion in revenues, needed to consolidate three inefficient warehouses and scale to meet rising peak demand. To support long-term growth and improve operational efficiency, Breakthru Beverage partnered with Westfalia Tech. Inc. to deploy a high-density Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) and the Savanna.NET® Warehouse Management System.

Westfalia Tech. Inc. installed a five-high AS/RS using the Satellite® configuration with three tandem S/RMs, eight integrated pick-to-belt modules and Savanna.NET® WMS, enabling 200 pallet moves per hour and storage of 1.3 million cases in a compact 110,000 sq. ft. footprint (expandable to 2.2 million cases). The solution increased throughput (78,000 cases in 10 hours), halved primary receiving time, fulfills roughly 75–80% of case needs, and delivered significant space, labor and productivity improvements for Breakthru Beverage Illinois.
