ICM, Inc. Cuts Annual ERP Costs by More Than $400K While Streamlining Project Management

ICM, Inc., a maker of equipment and processes for ethanol plants and other biofuels facilities, faced growing complexity in project cost accounting, resource management and scheduling across roughly 200 concurrent construction and retrofit projects. To tie project management, manufacturing and finance together they deployed Microsoft Dynamics AX (with the Adeaca Advanced Projects CEC add‑on) with implementation support from Western Computer.

Western Computer helped implement and configure Microsoft Dynamics AX to integrate project management, manufacturing, procurement and finance, avoid unnecessary customizations, and give project managers full visibility into costs, resources and production orders. The solution freed up three of seven accountants, cut ERP support resource costs by about $410,000 per year, and reduced financial statement generation from days to hours while improving project scheduling and control.
