Case Study: BJC HealthCare boosts brand awareness and referrals with Werremeyer Creative's Curiosus publication

A Werremeyer Creative Case Study

BJC HealthCare reaches over 1 million people annually with Werremeyer Creative

Werremeyer Creative partnered with BJC HealthCare, which sought to elevate the brand perception of its academic medical centers, Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University Physicians. The challenge was to create a cost-effective, contemporary medical publication that could boost patient referrals, enhance physician recruitment, and improve national rankings, moving beyond traditional healthcare communications that often failed to engage.

The solution was the creation and launch of "Curiosus," an artful medical publication for the public, alongside a full multichannel content ecosystem. Werremeyer Creative handled branding, content development, digital strategy, and turn-key execution, repurposing stories across print, web, email, social media, and podcast channels. This strategy reached over one million people annually, increased U.S. News & World Report rankings each year, and won multiple Health + Wellness Design Awards from 2019 through 2024.
