Starpoint Central School District, facing the challenges of aging facilities, rising energy costs, and limited funding, partnered with vendor Wendel. They utilized an Energy Performance Contract (EPC) to address deferred maintenance and reduce operational expenses without burdening taxpayers.

Wendel implemented a comprehensive solution including LED lighting retrofits and building envelope improvements. This resulted in annual savings of over 1 million kWh of electricity and $127,532, projecting a $6.7 million surplus over 15 years. The district also achieved ENERGY STAR certification with Wendel's support.
