A private Japanese Pharmaceutical Company partnered with Welocalize to support a 50-country clinical trial for a new psychiatric drug. The challenge was translating and linguistically validating patient-reported outcomes (PROs) into 40 languages so the study could collect consistent, comparable data across diverse cultures and countries.

Welocalize delivered forward and back translations, reconciliation, cultural adaptation, and cognitive debriefing with native-language focus groups. As a result, PROs were translated accurately and on time into more than 40 languages, with cognitive, grammatical, and culturally inappropriate issues removed, leading to better patient compliance, higher-quality trial data, and successful pooling of results from over 50 countries.
