Canva Partners with Welocalize to Build Localization Program for Digital Content

Canva, the online graphic‑design platform used by millions in over 190 countries, needed to scale its globalization efforts to deliver culturally relevant UX across UI, templates, learning platforms and digital marketing. To meet the challenge of translating the product and tailoring templates for local festivals and languages — including hard‑to‑find locales — Canva partnered with Welocalize to build a web and mobile localization program using translation, internationalization, transcreation and world‑class language quality assurance (LQA).

Welocalize implemented that program by leveraging its network of more than 30,000 in‑country linguists and LQA processes to launch languages rapidly, including 28+ lesser‑known languages such as Sinhala, Fula, Tajik, Malagasy and Cebuano. Welocalize’s work supported Canva’s expansion to 100+ languages and 60+ mobile locales, helping the platform better serve 10M+ users (45% non‑English speakers) with locally resonant templates and improved global awareness.
