A Wellth Case Study

Preview of the Services for the Underserved Case Study

Working Together to Support Members with Behavioral Health, Hypertension, and Diabetes

Services for the Underserved (S:US) faced the challenge of improving medication adherence among its Medicaid-eligible members with behavioral health, diabetes, and hypertension diagnoses. Non-adherence was leading to negative health outcomes and complications. To address this, the nonprofit partnered with Wellth to implement a digital health incentive program.

Wellth’s solution used a mobile app that leveraged principles of behavioral economics, such as loss aversion. Members were incentivized with financial rewards to submit daily photo evidence of taking their medication, which was verified by AI. The program achieved an average daily adherence rate of 91%, significantly exceeding the 80% benchmark. The initiative also resulted in an excellent Net Promoter Score of 80 and reports from members of improved health and well-being.
