A Wellth Case Study

Preview of the Tokio Marine Pacific Case Study

Wellth improved HbA1c levels in 80% of patients with uncontrolled Type 2 diabetes

Tokio Marine Pacific sought to improve medication adherence and health outcomes for members with Type 2 diabetes in Guam. The challenge was that patients were not consistently taking their prescribed medications, preventing them from realizing the therapies' positive effects on lowering HbA1c levels. To address this, they partnered with Wellth to implement its behavioral economics-based mobile app program.

Wellth's solution used financial incentives and daily photo check-ins to build healthy habits. The program resulted in 80% of patients with uncontrolled diabetes improving their HbA1c levels. Furthermore, 67% of all participants showed improvement in their Proportion of Days Covered (PDC), a key adherence metric, and the program achieved an exceptionally high Net Promoter Score of +83, indicating strong member satisfaction.
