Bassett Healthcare Network, a six-hospital integrated health system in central New York, wanted to improve transfusion services, patient experience, and operational efficiency across its network. With WellSky Transfusion and Epic integration, Bassett centralized transfusion services, improved inventory visibility across facilities, and reduced duplicate work and manual errors. The results included OB drill turnaround times improving from 15 minutes to 9 minutes, an estimated 80% faster crossmatch process, and about a 12% reduction in network-wide inventory, helping lower costs and support better patient care.
