Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) outgrew a basic wellness program made up of fitness trackers, paperwork and the honor system and needed a more flexible solution to meet diverse staff needs. After exploring options at the National Wellness Institute Conference, PLNU chose the WellRight platform and program (informed by WellRight’s 21 Habits materials) for its customizable, non‑rigid approach.
WellRight implemented a configurable platform with automated tracking, text reminders, and tailored challenges that cut wellness administration from about 26 to 10 hours per week (a 62% decrease), boosted engagement by roughly 50%, and produced double‑digit health improvements across multiple conditions — including a 42% drop in pre‑diabetes — while increasing employee satisfaction.
