Gamification and its effect on maintaining high levels of engagement

AmBev, one of the world's largest beverage companies with more than 30,000 employees and 33 breweries across Brazil, needed to sustain employee wellbeing and engagement across widely distributed sites and through the disruption of the COVID‑19 pandemic. To address this, AmBev partnered with Wellhub to provide a corporate wellness platform combining in‑person and digital fitness benefits.

Wellhub implemented a gamified wellbeing program supported by targeted internal communications, challenges, rewards, online classes, partner apps and personal trainers, keeping employees active and connected. From September 2019 to October 2020 AmBev saw a 74% registration rate, 21% benefit activation, 2,738 partner locations visited, 4,491 partner app downloads, 41,000+ check‑ins and an average usage of 2x per week—demonstrating Wellhub’s measurable impact on engagement.
