Case Study: Target achieves faster time-to-hire and nearly doubled interview-to-hire hit rates with Weirdly

A Weirdly Case Study

Preview of the Target Case Study

Target smashes its targets for store recruitment

Target, one of Australia’s largest employers (about 13,000 staff across 134 stores), faced slow, fragmented store recruitment handled by busy store managers and a manual ATS that relied on spreadsheets. To centralise and speed hiring while preserving a strong candidate experience, Target selected Weirdly in 2019 and adopted Weirdly’s pre‑screening assessment and talent portal with Calendly interview booking.

Weirdly implemented an automated screening quiz that filters for location, availability and fit, builds a talent community, removes resumes and enables instant long‑lists and self‑booking. The results speak for themselves: hires-from-interviews rose to 85% (up ~60% from pre-Weirdly), interview-to-hire hit rates jumped from ~50% to the 70–90% range, candidate NXS scored 8.9/10, and indigenous candidate interviews increased substantially—demonstrating Weirdly’s clear impact on speed, quality and diversity.
