A WegoWise Case Study
United Housing Management worked with WegoWise by AppFolio and New Ecology to assess water and energy efficiency opportunities across its Blue Mountain development, including a particularly high-usage building at 68 Cheney St. The challenge was identifying why this 12,000 sq. ft. Dorchester walk-up was consuming far more water than comparable low-rise apartment buildings in the area.
WegoWise helped analyze the building’s water data, which led to an on-site audit and targeted repairs including fixing toilet flapper valves, leaky aerators, and inefficient shower heads, along with replacing toilets and installing low-flow fixtures. United Housing spent about $2,000 on the upgrades and then saved nearly $1,200 per month, while also expanding the same retrofits to other buildings after seeing the results.
