National CORE, a major California nonprofit developer and property manager, needed a better way to understand and reduce utility consumption across its multifamily portfolio. Facing drought conditions and California’s state-mandated water reduction goals, the organization turned to WegoWise to benchmark water, electricity, and gas use and uncover savings opportunities.

Using WegoWise Premium reports and benchmarking tools, National CORE identified issues such as a water line break, a billing error, and properties consuming more water than peers, then used the insights to guide retrofits and operational changes. The results included a 19% reduction in water usage, a 52% reduction at the best-performing property, and more than 75 retrofit projects in progress, with National CORE planning to expand WegoWise monitoring across its full portfolio.
