A WegoWise Case Study
Community Corporation of Santa Monica is a nonprofit developer and manager of affordable housing in Santa Monica, California, responsible for nearly 1,700 units across more than 100 buildings. With utilities costing more than $1.1 million annually, the organization needed a better way to identify inefficient properties, prioritize retrofit projects, and track the financial and operational impact of sustainability improvements. It turned to WegoWise, using its portfolio performance and reporting tools to bring utility data into planning and budgeting.
With WegoWise, Community Corporation of Santa Monica tracked retrofit results, measured savings, and forecasted future improvements across its portfolio. The organization used Building Upgrade and Measurement & Verification reports to validate projects such as toilet retrofits and LED lighting upgrades, resulting in 26% water cost savings and 35% electricity savings. WegoWise also helped CCSM secure funding, communicate results internally, and support data-driven efficiency programs for affordable housing owners and managers.
