A Weel Case Study
Rous County Council, the government-appointed body responsible for bulk water supply, noxious weeds, and flood mitigation in the Northern Rivers area, was struggling with a manual, time-consuming expense process. Before Weel, staff had individual credit cards and the finance team had to wait for end-of-month bank statements, then chase receipts, create purchase orders, code each item, and complete reconciliations, with the AP officer spending the equivalent of 2–3 days per month on credit card reporting alone.
By introducing Weel’s spend management platform, including corporate cards, approvals and policies, budgets, accounts payable, and reimbursements, Rous County Council gained real-time visibility of spending and simplified month-end workflows. The result was 3 days of bank statement processing eliminated each month, 100% real-time visibility of staff spending, and faster, easier reconciliations, while helping staff complete expense reports immediately and improving on-time compliance across the organisation.
