Seeking to boost sign‑ups from PPC-driven homepage traffic and to understand which page elements drive conversions, the team partnered with Webtrends to strengthen click‑through performance and pinpoint what in PR, PPC and email demand‑generation moves prospects to sign up.
Webtrends ran a two‑step multivariate optimization—introducing a new page layout and a Hero Shot among five tested factors—and used a fractional factorial approach to cut testing time to 24 days. The result was a more than 60% uplift in conversions; the most influential elements were the call‑to‑action button, resource links and the Hero Shot. A second test added a New York Times product quote and refined the CTA to further improve results, with only two original content levels retained in the optimal combination.
