A Webtrends Optimize Case Study
Microsoft Office Live Small Business (OLSB) UK, part of Microsoft, offers tools for small businesses to create and manage an online presence but wanted to boost sign-ups from PPC traffic and identify which page elements drive conversions. To tackle this, Microsoft partnered with Webtrends Optimize and its personalisation platform to run multivariate (MVT) testing focused on the click-out into the sign-up funnel.
Webtrends Optimize built the first dedicated OLSB-UK landing page, redirected keyword campaigns from the home page, and ran an MVT test of five page factors to find the optimal combination. Using the Webtrends Optimize personalisation platform reduced test time and experiments, and the changes—notably a CTA copy change to “Start Now!” and a different hero shot—lifted conversions by over 500%, with CTA button, hero shot and product description identified as the highest-impact elements.
