Symmetric IT Group leverages OpenText Secure Cloud Platform to protect clients’ data and improve compliance

Symmetric IT Group, a Florida-based MSP serving SMBs, needed an enterprise-grade, easy-to-manage cyber resilience solution to protect clients migrating to the cloud, meet industry regulations and cybersecurity insurance requirements, and reduce Microsoft 365 misconfiguration risk. To address this, Symmetric partnered with OpenText’s Secure Cloud Platform and deployed Webroot solutions including Webroot Advanced Email Threat Protection and Webroot Advanced Email Encryption (Zix), plus Carbonite Cloud-to-Cloud Backup and Carbonite Information Archiving.

Using the unified Secure Cloud Platform with Webroot products, Symmetric implemented a multi-layered approach—email protection, encryption, automated SaaS backup and archiving across 50+ data sources (including Teams)—that improved compliance, reduced operational overhead and simplified management. The deployment has blocked “hundreds of thousands” of attacks across Symmetric’s client base, lowered support tickets, and delivered faster, more reliable recovery and proactive compliance for customers.
