SENESCYT, Ecuador’s public agency for higher education and research, needed a fast, high-quality IT solution to automate the Prometeo Project’s PhD application and qualification process for bilingual applicants across Europe and the Americas. The program handles high-value scholarships (avg. USD 80,000), thousands of monthly site visits (~9,000) and thousands of candidacies, so SENESCYT required reliable, transparent processing and easy access to applicant information.

Auconsis, using WebRatio’s model-driven tools, built a BPMN/IFML-based applicants’ registration and qualification system that automated qualification, validation and candidacy workflows, generated dynamic reports, managed matrices, sent automatic notifications and integrated legacy systems (recovering 2,500+ candidacies). Delivered in three months, the solution drastically reduced waiting times and became SENESCYT’s first BPM project implemented to international development standards.
