GTT (Turin Transportation Group), which serves 190 million passengers a year, needed a fast, fully integrated online e‑ticketing service that would fit into its existing website and IT architecture and support credit‑card and bank payment services. The main challenge was to deliver an innovative, production‑ready application very quickly while accommodating ongoing change requests.
GTT chose WebRatio Cube and an iterative prototyping approach to build the e‑ticketing system; customers can register or log in with a personal client code, receive a microchip card, buy season passes, manage personal data, check pass validity and view subscription history. The solution was developed and published in two months, achieved 100% integration with GTT systems, tripled development speed, and supported over 60,000 registered users and more than 20,000 season tickets sold in 2013.
