Allina Health was facing rising provider burnout and low employee confidence that the organization cared about personal well‑being. To move beyond a check‑the‑box wellness approach, Allina partnered with WebMD Health Services to deploy a whole‑person well‑being platform and assessment, replacing biometric screenings and measuring engagement, turnover and cultural perceptions.
WebMD Health Services helped Allina implement an organizational support model with leadership and manager engagement, team challenges, a Well‑Being Champion network, and targeted activities for high‑stress provider groups to reduce stress and build resilience. The shift changed how Allina measures success — toward recruiting, retention and patient satisfaction — and has produced lower turnover among program participants and improved patient satisfaction at facilities with higher employee engagement.
