Case Study: Wabash National achieves improved communications and employee engagement with WebMD Health Services

A WebMD Health Services Case Study

Preview of the Wabash National Case Study

How Wabash National Improved Communications and Empowered a Dispersed manufacturing workforce

Wabash National, a trailer manufacturer with about 6,500 employees across more than 15 sites and over 80% “deskless” workers, struggled to reach frontline staff with daily communications, safety alerts and benefits information. To solve this, Wabash National partnered with WebMD Health Services to deploy a mobile employee communications solution — the Wabash@Work app — aimed at connecting dispersed teams and reinforcing company culture and objectives.

WebMD Health Services implemented the Wabash@Work app with channel-based communications, a daily-post cadence by designated employee writers, boots-on-the-ground launches, peer-to-peer kudos and a Spanish-language version. Results included rapid adoption (nearly 2,000 users — ~61% — and ~900 daily views three weeks into rollout at the largest site), 164 kudos within two weeks, and HR handling 102 employee questions through the app in a two-week period, improving alignment, visibility and frontline engagement.
