How UnityPoint Health unified its workforce

UnityPoint Health, the 13th largest nonprofit health system in the U.S., faced the challenge of unifying a workforce that nearly doubled after multiple acquisitions. The organization needed to align new affiliate employees with the parent brand and culture, improve employee health and well‑being, and drive participation in existing HR programs. To meet these goals UnityPoint engaged WebMD Health Services to deliver a centralized wellness platform, OnPoint for Health, as part of onboarding and ongoing employee engagement.

WebMD Health Services implemented OnPoint for Health to register employees at hire, run organization‑wide and location‑targeted challenges, incentivize biometric screenings and preventive care, and promote internal programs like “Honoring You” and MyUnityPoint. The program delivered strong results: more than 64% of eligible employees participated in at least one challenge, over 7,000 employees reached the top incentive level, there were 1,000+ additional survey responses, 12,500+ recognitions, a 194% increase in registrations, fewer health claims, and 44% of employees at LDL risk improved their risk level — outcomes credited to WebMD Health Services’ solution.
