An engineering company’s journey to reaching every employee

TE Connectivity, a global engineering company that designs and manufactures connectivity and sensor products, needed a better way to reach 40,000 largely offline manufacturing employees across 10 businesses in 60 countries, send communications tailored by job and location, and empower managers and local teams to share relevant messages. Existing tools like email and SharePoint couldn’t deliver the necessary personalization or targeted reach, so TE Connectivity engaged WebMD Health Services to deploy an employee communications and engagement platform.

WebMD Health Services implemented a centralized app that synced HR data to enable targeted channels and manager-level team messaging, allowing TE Connectivity to reach 1,400+ unique employee groups in 22 languages and target by function, business, region, city and building. A training extension increased content creator activity—teams now publish about 175 messages per month, a greater than 200% increase from the prior platform—resulting in broader reach, higher engagement and clearer, measurable communications metrics.
