Addressing Well-Being, Inclusivity and Critical Community Needs

Health New England, a regional non-profit health plan serving more than 176,000 members in Massachusetts, needed to strengthen well-being, inclusivity (DEIB) and community-focused services while rapidly adapting programs during the COVID-19 pandemic. To address rising mental health needs, diversify screenings and better engage underserved populations, they partnered with WebMD Health Services and used the WebMD ONE platform to deliver tailored wellbeing resources.

WebMD Health Services implemented WebMD ONE features—Daily Habits, inclusive health assessments, expanded health coaching, visible COVID-19 information, webinars and virtual programming—while Health New England used pulse surveys and segmentation to personalize outreach. The program delivered measurable year‑over‑year impact (2019–2020): 16% higher registration, 6.5% more site visits, 12% increase in rewards lobby visits, a 6.1% drop in average health risks, 9% reduction in blood pressure and an 8% reduction in cholesterol risk.
