Department of Defence delivers 146-building handover 7 months early with WebFM

The Australian Department of Defence faced an immense challenge relocating 13 units and 146 buildings, which included over 31,500 assets and 105,000 documents. The managing contractor, Laing O’Rourke, needed to ensure the accuracy and compliance of all handover documentation to avoid severe delays. The traditional handover approach was not feasible for this scale, prompting them to partner with vendor WebFM.

WebFM implemented its consulting services and its OmTrak online platform to centralize and validate all project information. This solution provided complete visibility and streamlined the entire handover process. As a result, WebFM enabled the handover of all 146 buildings to be completed seven months ahead of schedule, replacing an estimated 500 tonnes of paper with just six USBs of validated digital data.
