South West Coaches, a family-run bus and coach operator with a 112-vehicle fleet based in Somerset, needed to cut rising fuel costs (an annual fuel bill of about £1m), reduce idling, improve tracking and safety, and choose a system that would pay for itself. Webfleet’s solution was installed in 30 vehicles in April 2012 and delivered a 5% reduction in fuel consumption within six months, largely driven by reduced idling and more moderate driving, putting the system on track to pay for itself within 12 months.
