A Webfleet Case Study
Pine Tree Food Equipment, a Maine-based commercial cooking equipment service provider since 1989, struggled with inefficient dispatching and no reliable way to document billable time—relying on phone calls to locate technicians and on technicians’ recollections to justify service charges. To solve this, Pine Tree deployed Webfleet (TomTom WEBFLEET) and TomTom PRO 7250 driver terminals to gain real-time visibility and timestamps for field work.
Webfleet provided GPS location tracking, ETA prediction, call timestamping, driver behavior monitoring, maintenance reminders and direct dispatch integration, allowing work orders to be sent, acknowledged and updated from the vehicle. The result: technicians now handle 4–8 calls per day, workdays dropped from 12 to 8 hours (eliminating roughly $400–$500/day in overtime previously), faster customer response and reduced paperwork, and company growth from about 6–8 techs to 23 with a third location planned—benefits Pine Tree says paid for the system within the first year.
