Kentwood Public Schools runs daily transportation for 6,100 students across 48 buses and faced a communications and visibility challenge: staff had no easy way to show parents where buses and passengers were during 10–15 minute rides. To solve this, Kentwood partnered with Webfleet and implemented its fleet tracking solution, including LINK 530 GPS units, PRO 8275M TRUCK navigation/camera devices and OptiDrive 360 driver-behavior monitoring.

Webfleet deployed a phased solution integrating GPS tracking, route navigation, onboard cameras, input/output bus-light integration and SIS/mapping ties, plus a department-wide visualization monitor. As a result, Kentwood recorded no speeding or harsh-braking events in one semester, cut $35,000 in fuel costs through route optimization, improved parent communications with near real-time location and video data, and unlocked further maintenance and tire-wear savings.
