Forterra, a leading UK manufacturer of clay and concrete building products with a 125-vehicle draw-bar and articulated truck fleet, needed real-time telematics to replace slower OEM systems, improve DVSA and FORS compliance, and move toward paperless delivery and FORS Silver status. They selected Webfleet (TomTom Telematics) solutions—using LINK vehicle tracking and PRO 8275 TRUCK driver terminals—together with OBS Logistics’ CALIDUS VEhub for vehicle checks and electronic proof-of-delivery functionality.

Webfleet’s solution was trialled in 25 trucks and then rolled out to all 125 vehicles, enabling real-time DVSA vehicle check recording, instant defect alerts, paperless delivery notes/EPOD integration with Forterra’s ERP, and faster planned maintenance. The Webfleet deployment improved driver monitoring and reporting, supported FORS compliance checks (including blind-spot and camera verification), and delivered measurable operational gains: full-fleet terminal installation, immediate defect notification, and tighter maintenance and compliance processes.
