Fife Council - Customer Case Study

Fife Council, which operates a 1,600‑vehicle fleet across thirteen departments to deliver many 24/7 and emergency public services, needed accurate vehicle location, better driver behaviour and lower fuel/CO2 costs under tight budgets. After a trial, the council adopted Webfleet’s WEBFLEET system to address these challenges.

Webfleet implemented WEBFLEET telematics (including OptiDrive 360) in more than 1,000 vehicles and paired the technology with driver training to deliver real‑time tracking, faster emergency responses and driver performance feedback. The programme produced estimated carbon savings of 3,400 tonnes CO2, a £189,000 fuel cost reduction in 2017, a 15% increase in MPG, a 25% rise in OptiDrive scores for key teams, and improved passenger safety and response times.
