Action Door - Customer Case Study

Action Door, founded in 1968, provides residential and commercial automatic garage door installation and service throughout northeast Ohio with 70 vehicles on the road each day. Managing schedules—at least three stops per vehicle daily—became chaotic as technicians relied on more than 100 company cellphones and had to call dispatch after every job, leaving the company blind to vehicle locations and slow to respond to emergency calls. To solve this, Action Door turned to Webfleet and its WEBFLEET fleet-management solution.

Webfleet implemented TomTom WEBFLEET devices that receive jobs directly in-vehicle, provide turn-by-turn navigation with real-time traffic, and give dispatchers live visibility into location and driver behavior. The change eliminated the need for technicians to call in after each job, allowed real-time dispatching of emergency calls to the nearest tech, reduced fuel waste by spotting excessive idling and high-speed driving, improved safety and maintenance, and freed dispatchers to support customers and sell services—results the company says increased capacity and quickly boosted profits.
