PrettySecrets (prettysecrets.com), the online arm of Mumbai-based MTC e-commerce Pvt. Ltd. (backed with $8M), faced a common e‑commerce problem: users abandoning purchases after adding items to cart or reaching the payment page. The company set out to reduce checkout drop-offs by tracking these key events and triggering targeted engagement when transactions stalled.

Using WebEngage’s Journey Designer, PrettySecrets built two contextual journeys—one triggered when users reached the payment page (checks for purchase up to 10 minutes) and another when users added items to cart (checks up to 20 minutes)—that sent personalized web push, mobile push and SMS nudges and retriggered if needed. The campaigns improved conversion, reducing cart abandonment by 7.3% (measured with a one‑day conversion window).
