Nigerian EdTech Platform uLesson Education Sees A 73% Increase In MAUs With WebEngage

uLesson is a Nigerian edtech company founded by Sim Shagaya in 2019 that provides a video library, live classes, homework help, quizzes, assessments and weekly parent reports to learners across Africa and beyond. The team needed to consolidate fragmented user data and multiple engagement tools into a single platform to deliver contextual, omnichannel messaging that nudged users through the lifecycle—from install to registration, lesson completion and subscription.

uLesson implemented WebEngage (Journey Designer, emails, push and in‑app notifications) to build dynamic segments and automated onboarding, reactivation and app‑update journeys. The result: install-to-registration rose by 85%, more than 50,000 users updated their app in under two weeks, subscription conversions via in‑app campaigns increased 20%, and monthly active users grew 73% in the first half of 2023 versus the prior period.
