Goibibo, one of India’s leading travel aggregators whose hotel bookings grew 5x in 2015 (with 70% via mobile), faced a common industry challenge: search abandonment—users who search for flights but don’t complete booking. With data showing many travelers worry about getting the best price, Goibibo’s marketing team set out to re-engage these “search abandoners” with hyper-personalized, timely communication to retain them and drive conversions.

Using WebEngage’s Journey Designer, Goibibo built automated, real-time workflows that triggered individualized emails within a 30-minute window, applied pre-send checks to avoid over-messaging, and populated dynamic content (search context, best fares, promo cash, flexible-date options) plus subject-line multivariate testing.
