American Swan, an international online fashion and lifestyle brand, faced high cart abandonment on its checkout and payment pages and wanted to both identify customers about to abandon and learn why they were leaving so it could take remedial action.
To do this it ran a WebEngage leave‑intent survey on checkout pages for two weeks, capturing 31k unique views and 2.6k responses (8% response rate). The survey uncovered reasons such as high prices, coupon and COD issues, ambiguous messaging and UX gaps; after implementing fixes based on these insights, American Swan reduced its cart abandonment rate by 20%.
