Edtech Company Testbook Drives Up In-App Campaigns’ Revenue By 9x With New WebEngage Gamification Feature

Testbook is a leading Indian EdTech platform (founded 2014, HQ Gurgaon) that helps millions of students prepare for exams through live tutoring, mock tests and analytics. Despite a huge user base, Testbook faced stagnant in-app engagement and conversions, a manual, time-consuming template workflow, and limited two-way interaction with learners that held back scalable campaigns.

Working with WebEngage, Testbook deployed in-app gamification—Spin the Wheel and Scratch Card templates—plus custom HTML and user segmentation to automate coupon application and drive users to checkout. The Spin the Wheel lifted engagement threefold (unique clicks from 6.6% to 16.1%), while the Scratch Card drove a 9x increase in revenue from in-app campaigns, streamlining campaign creation and improving retention and ROI.
