Huhtamaki accelerates digital transformation by replacing Lotus Notes with WEBCON BPS

Huhtamaki, a global food packaging manufacturer operating in 36 countries with 81 production plants, needed to move away from its long-running Lotus Notes environment and enable faster development and easier implementation of changes. The company looked for a low-code platform that could support its digital transformation and reduce paper-based, manual work across the organization.

Webcon’s WEBCON BPS was selected after a multi-stage evaluation and used to build and launch new business applications quickly. The IT team delivered the first three pilot apps in just two weeks, created 50 business applications within three years, and later built solutions at a pace of up to five per week. The platform helped Huhtamaki digitize processes such as complaint management, sales forecasting, and new substance registration, while also making the shift to remote work much easier during the pandemic.
