Newport City Council delivers a 100-page five-year plan with Webber Design

Newport City Council needed to design and produce a comprehensive five-year plan document and related materials that would unite all council members behind its core themes, while navigating the challenge of avoiding any colors associated with political parties. They engaged the local graphic design studio Webber Design, which won the contract through a competitive pitch, to provide branding, print design, photography, and environmental graphic services.

Webber Design created a vibrant, politically neutral four-color palette and used directional chevrons as a key design device to visually represent the council's forward momentum. The solution included designing a 100-page bilingual document, producing promotional posters, applying large-scale vinyl and paint wall art in the Civic Centre, and providing photography. By successfully delivering a cohesive visual identity across all outputs, Webber Design helped the council effectively communicate its "Building on Success, Building a Better Newport" plan to both staff and the public.
