Grundlage Wins ‘Best Marketing Innovation’ Award for WeatherAds-powered Sun Care Campaign

Grundlage, a full-service agency, needed to raise awareness for their client's sun-care products in Finland. The challenge was that consumers were only searching for these products after getting sunburned, as they were unaware of the need for protection at lower UV levels. They partnered with the vendor WeatherAds to address this reactive behavior with a more proactive marketing solution.

Using WeatherAds, Grundlage deployed a dynamic campaign called 'The Sundial' across Meta and Google Ads. The WeatherAds platform used hyper-local UV index data to serve contextually relevant ads that informed users of the current UV level and recommended products. This solution concentrated ad spend during peak UV moments and cut wasted impressions. The results were outstanding, including a sales increase of up to 77%, a return on ad spend over 150%, and significantly lower CPMs. The campaign won the 'Best Marketing Innovation' award.
