GroupM maximizes ROAS with hyperlocalized weather targeting for home improvement brand Kärcher

Kärcher, a German manufacturer of cleaning equipment, faced the challenge of promoting its weather-dependent electric car de-icer product without wasting ad spend during irrelevant conditions. Their media partner, GroupM, collaborated with the vendor WeatherAds to implement a hyperlocalized weather-targeting solution to enhance ad relevancy and maximize return on ad spend.

WeatherAds provided a platform that allowed GroupM to apply a weather-targeting layer to their online campaigns. Ads for the de-icer were automatically activated only in specific Austrian geos when the temperature dropped below freezing. This strategy, executed across Google and Meta, resulted in excellent click-through and conversion rates, successfully achieving a great return on ad spend for the campaign.
