Mammut boosts avalanche search with FLUID’s 70-meter Barryvox S

Mammut, a world-leading outdoor specialist, faced the challenge of developing its next-generation smart avalanche transceiver. They partnered with the vendor FLUID to design the new Barryvox S beacon, aiming to significantly boost its usability and performance for life-saving searches.

FLUID implemented a solution that featured a new powerful search mechanism, an unprecedented large display, and a simplified visual interface. This dramatically simplified the beacon search process, making it extremely easy to use even under stress. The solution included a search strip width of 70 meters to shorten the search path and a new secure lock function to prevent undesired mode changes, ultimately helping to save lives.
