The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) is a membership-based representation firm for independently owned five-star boutique hotels. As consumer research and direct booking grow, LHW — historically reliant on travel agents for over half its business — faced a gap in customer insight (limited to name, address and property) and needed to engage consumers earlier with more personalized, educational marketing.
LHW partnered with WealthEngine to profile its Loyalty Club and uncovered demographic, wealth and lifestyle attributes (age, net worth, business ownership, sports and leisure interests). WealthEngine built a scorecard and SmartProspect list that informed segmentation and brand strategy, revealed a high reservation rate in the $1M–$5M net worth segment, and highlighted key acquisition channels; LHW is now rolling out targeted campaigns, aiming to add 100K–200K prospects and integrate real‑time wealth and lifestyle data into CRM to enable “concierge” personalized marketing, retention and upsell initiatives.
